Electrosoft Gets Re-accredited to Assess Cloud Providers against FedRAMP! April 3, 2015

Electrosoft is pleased to announce that the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) has granted accreditation to Electrosoft to conduct independent inspections of cloud products and systems against the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Security Assessment Framework, and provided a recommendation to recognize Electrosoft as a Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO).

FedRAMP is a government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring for cloud-based services. 3PAOs are accredited assessors that have demonstrated independence and technical competency required to test security implementations and collect representative evidence for cloud products and services.

“As an accredited FedRAMP 3PAO since 2012, Electrosoft has been supporting a number of Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) to navigate the FedRAMP requirements,” said Dr. Sarbari Gupta, Founder and CEO of Electrosoft. “We are excited to achieve A2LA accreditation, as we continue our commitment to working with cloud security providers and Federal organizations to further the availability and adoption of secure cloud services within the Federal government,” Dr. Gupta added.

Under the FedRAMP Security Assessment Framework, 3PAOs are required to be assessed by A2LA in order to be accredited by the FedRAMP Program Management Office (PMO). Through the use of technical experts as assessors, the A2LA assessment process involves a rigorous evaluation of technical competence of the 3PAOs, as well as an assessment of their compliance with International standards in accordance with ISO/IEC 17020:2012 titled Conformity Assessment-Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection.
