The Integrated Electronic Health Record (iEHR) Initiative July 9, 2012

Electrosoft is actively participating in the Integrated Electronic Health Record (iEHR) initiative between the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the US Department of Defense (DoD). The iEHR initiative represents a monumental opportunity for partnership and collaboration between the DoD and VA.  The effort, projected to last through FY17, will be comprised of incremental elaboration, acquisition, and development phases, with the first Initial [limited] Operational Capability (IOC) deployment targeting end of FY14.

Electrosoft is contributing Subject Matter Experts toward the iEHR initiative. As an infrastructure capability, Access Control provides a crucial part of the foundation for the iEHR and the IOC. It is one of over 54 identified capabilities for the iEHR for which the Departments have brought together experts in all areas of health IT, including architecture, requirements, and clinical informatics. Our participation on this and other C-IPTs for architecture, identity management and federation was initiated from the Security Services Analyst BPA we hold with VHA.
