Conference brings together the identity sector’s best and brightest to collaborate and innovate
On September 2, Dr. Sarbari Gupta presented “Beyond Authentication: Continuous Identity Assurance in the Age of AI” at Identity Week America 2026. The conference, which was held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, brought together the brightest minds in the identity sector to promote innovation, new thinking, and more effective identity solutions.
Dr. Gupta posited that AI is transforming both cyber offense and defense, requiring organizations to move beyond asking whether an identity has been authenticated to inquiring whether it can be continuously trusted. She identifies the need to transition from authentication-centric security to continuous identity assurance, suggesting a four-pillar model comprised of behavioral analytics, device posture, contextual risk signals, and AI-powered threat detection. She concluded with practical insights for building identity systems capable of adapting to AI-enabled threats while preserving security, privacy, and user experience.
