Electrosoft announced today that the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has awarded the firm a recompete contract to continue supporting the Profile Analysis and Comparison Tool (P-ACT) and providing validation for the Application Programming Interface (API). Under this award, Electrosoft will extend its long-standing work with NIST to support the development, advancement, and adoption of software testing tools that enable rigorous interoperability in healthcare software, specifically Health Level Seven International (HL7) v2 messaging through computable specifications and conformance testing tools.

These resources support industry interoperability and help ensure meaningful, actionable exchange of vital clinical and administrative data.
Under this contract, Electrosoft will support NIST’s Health IT Standards Testing program by maintaining the P-ACT and validating its API. The work centers on comparing HL7 v2 implementation guides and conformance profiles, helping produce complete, computable specifications, and enhancing NIST’s HL7 v2 conformance testing toolchain (IGAMT/TCAMT/GVT) to strengthen interoperability across the health IT community.
