NIST CAPSS IDIQ Task Orders
Electrosoft Awarded Two Cybersecurity and Privacy Support Services NIST CAPSS IDIQ Task Orders July 3, 2024

Electrosoft announced today that the National Institute of Standards and Technology has awarded the company two task orders on the Cybersecurity and Privacy Support Services (CAPSS) IDIQ.

Under one task order, Electrosoft will provide operational and development support to the Cryptographic Validation Program (CVP). A second task order, for Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board (ISPAB) support, enlists Electrosoft support for ISPAB meetings, capturing the emerging information and privacy issues discussed for future action.

“Through the ISPAB and CVP, NIST is taking the lead on federal information security and privacy protection from very different angles. Through the ISPAB, NIST is spotting emerging trends and issues before they affect federal information systems, while the cryptographic algorithms the agency recommends as part of the CVP is a more operational contribution,” said Dr. Sarbari Gupta, CEO of Electrosoft. “We are pleased to continue our 20+ years of helping NIST identify and proliferate measures supporting our nation’s information security and privacy policies and practices.”

Cryptographic Validation Program (CVP) Support

Under this task order, Electrosoft will provide operational support such as reviewing test reports, providing guidance to third-party CVP testing labs and vendors, and updating written documents for each of the validation programs. Development support includes tasks such as developing software that supports automation, testing tools or process improvement for the validation programs, system maintenance, and system configuration.

Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board (ISPAB) Support

Several times a year, security and privacy experts from public and private organizations who comprise the ISPAB hold public meetings for two days. The purpose of the meetings is to identify emerging information security and privacy issues that could affect federal information systems and review proposed standards and guidelines developed by NIST. Under this task order, Electrosoft will manage the administration and technical execution of the ISPAB meetings and is responsible for maintaining accurate records of project and board meeting activities.

Electrosoft has been supporting NIST for more than 20 years. In December 2023, the company announced it has been awarded a spot on the $125M NIST CAPSS IDIQ.
